1955 Chocolate Log 5 eggs . separated 1 C. Sugar 6 oz. Dark Sweet Chocolate Vanilla 3 T. Cold Water 1 C. Heavy Cream Grated Chocolate Beat yokes with 3/4 C. sugar till light. Melt Chocolate with water on top of double broiler. Cool and stir into eggs mixture. Beat egg whites stiff & fold into mixture. Butter a cookie sheet and spread with buttered wax paper. Spread mixture on top buttered paper. Bake in moderate oven for 10 minutes , reduce to 300 and bake 5 minutes more. Remove from oven and cover with a damp dish towel. Cool & refrigerate for 1 hour. Remove towel & loosen from cookie sheet. Dust with grated chocolate. Turn out on waxed paper. Peel off bottom paper. Whip the cream over ice and add sugar and vanilla to taste. Spread with the whipped cream, roll up & serve.
